You are invited to a Positive Peace Workshop in Victoria, hosted by The Institute of Economics and Peace (IEP) together with Ivory’s Rock Foundation (IRF). It will be held on Thursday and Friday 28th and 29th November 2019 in Melbourne.
This highly engaging workshop will focus on practical efforts to build positive peace in communities, including a session on the importance of personal peace. IEP has collaborated with a number of organisations around the world to deliver similar workshops.
The workshop will be held at the Insight Academy of Australia, Earth Room, Level 10,
474 Flinders Street (enter via Highlander Lane) Melbourne VIC 3000, located in the CBD.

Overview
The IEP framework for Positive Peace is based on eight pillars which not only sustain peace but also support an environment where human potential can flourish. IEP will introduce these eight positive pillars of peace and explore their application during the workshop.
The IRF framework for personal peace focuses on inner resources such as clarity, choice, understanding, courage and hope and how to develop these inner strengths. Participants will be encouraged to share their own personal experiences.
Workshop outcomes:
The workshop aims to provide participants with:
1. An understanding of the IEP Pillars of Positive Peace and how to build on the pillars to create and sustain peaceful, cohesive communities.
2. An understanding of the importance of personal peace and the recognition of our natural attributes such as clarity, contentment, appreciation and hope. Participants will learn how to build understanding of these attributes by accessing the Peace Education Program (PEP) and online resource of Peace Education and Knowledge (PEAK).
